The Beauty Route is a project carried out by Confcommercio di Pesaro e Urbino/Marche Nord which has created a “network” of 12 municipalities that have entrusted it with the task of promoting and enhancing the rich artistic, cultural, environmental and enogastronomic heritage on a national and international level. And this using all the strategies and tools of tourism marketing.

In some of these (Fossombrone, Mondavio, Pergola and Sant’Angelo in Vado) Confcommercio Pesaro and Urbino/Marche Nord also manages the museum and architectural sites as well as the IAT Offices guaranteeing their opening and use every day of the year.

The Itinerary of Beauty is a route within the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, Marche Region, that joins the sea to the mountains, the hills (a characteristic sign of our Region) to the wonderful cities of art; the fortified villages to the archaeological areas.

A “road” suitable for a curious tourist who wants to live unique experiences stopping – in the folds of the territory – to admire uncontaminated landscapes and places (preserved and visible today as Raffaello and Piero della Francesca or Leonardo had painted them in the backdrop of their paintings in the Mona Lisa); walking or cycling along the many paths in the silence of nature; meeting villages “among the most beautiful in Italy” and rediscovering the flavours and tastes of ancient food and wine traditions or visiting the most beautiful beaches of the Adriatic Sea (from Gabicce Mare to Pesaro and Fano) with the presence of the Regional Park of Monte San Bartolo, a mountain on the sea of unique beauty and environmental value.

The Itinerary of Beauty includes a geographical area with the city of Urbino at its centre, Unesco World Heritage Site and home of Raphael and the Italian Renaissance, around which we find the Renaissance cities of Sant’Angelo in Vado, Cagli, Pergola, Mondavio, Fossombrone and Gradara; the hills of Colli al Metauro and Terre Roveresche and the seaside resorts of Gabicce Mare, Fano and Pesaro.

But this “schematic” division does not adequately represent the Itinerary: because some of these Cities have a very rich archaeological heritage (“Archaeological and Underground Cities Itinerary”); or the most beautiful and imposing medieval fortresses and fortifications, romantic places and historical centres and… In short, the Beauty Itinerary in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino is the concentrate of the beauty and wealth of the Bel Paese!
And if it is true that the “journey” is a discovery, the Itinerary of Beauty is the prerequisite to discover unexpected countries, works of art, landscapes and typicality. To live unique experiences.
