among the cultural attractions of Muggia stands out surprisingly Beethoveniana Library: a great private collection that preserves historical and artistic testimonies on the great composer Ludwig van Beethoven (Bonn 1770 – Vienna 1827), his works and his myth from the beginning of the nineteenth century to today. This is a great museum (more than 11,000 original pieces and authenticated), founded by the family Carrino (Sergio, with his wife Giuliana and son Ludovico) in over forty years of tireless and passionate researches all over the world, that the director of the Beethoven-Haus of Bonn has defined unique in the world for the size and orientation.
The collection is organized in twelve exposed collections in the charming environments of the house-museum: more than 150 sculptures and paintings, graphics 800 d’art, Exlibris 350, 2700 Postcards vintage and modern, 1400 stamps, 550 medals, 4500 publications (in first edition and as original) on the life and work, in addition to original scores, art objects, photos of epoch, masks, programs of Sala, figurines, a surprising collection of advertising and commercial advertising and even coffee, wine and desserts dedicated to Beethoven (prepared at home).
The Beethoven Library has received prestigious international awards and mentions: it has been invited to exhibit its collections in Bonn (Beethoven-Haus, 2013), in Paris (Philharmonie de Paris, Musée de la Musique, 2017) in Baden (Vienna) in 2019 and maintains collaborations with the MUK and the Wien Museum in Vienna.
