Farmhouse Il Poggio, situated between the Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana in the province of Siena, offers hospitality in suites, located in the central farmhouse, and in charming two-room and three-room flats gathered around the central courtyard of the small hamlet.

Attention to detail characterises all the rooms: the flats are furnished in perfect Tuscan style and equipped with all services and comforts; in the central farmhouse, on the upper floors, are the 5 splendid suites, each one unique, and on the ground floor is the typical Tuscan restaurant with dishes from our ancient local tradition, revised by our chef and prepared with products from the Il Poggio farm. The two swimming pools, one of which has a space reserved for children, are adjacent to the central farmhouse.

Unparalleled is the panorama one can enjoy from our belvedere “Balcone Val d’Orcia” (Orcia Valley Balcony), perhaps while savouring a traditional Tuscan dish, or sipping tea on the restaurant veranda. The jewel in the crown of our structure is the Equestrian Centre, where it is possible to participate in organised weeks for the introduction to Complete Equestrianism, themed weeks (Week of the Youngsters, Week on the Ghino di Tacco Trails, Spas and Crete) and stages with instructors of national and international level. The Centre also offers the possibility of customised lessons with FISE instructors and highly qualified equestrian personnel.

Among other activities, the farm is flourishing with the breeding of wild Cinta Senese cured meats and organic chicken, the production of PDO Terre di Siena olive oil, Rosso del Poggio Igt, Poggio Corno Rosso Orcia Doc, Bianco del Poggio and many other products, including spelt, also from organic farming. Inside the farmhouse there is also our sales point La Dispensa di Mafalda where, in addition to the products of our farm, such as Cinta Senese and organic chicken salami, wine, oil and Pecorino di Danfi, you can find many other delicacies, produced by small family-run businesses, and a wide variety of wines from prestigious Tuscan and other regions.

In addition to the many activities on offer (trekking, health trails, mountain bike excursions, interesting itineraries to nearby places of great historical and artistic interest), it is possible to take advantage of a tennis court and five-a-side football pitch and the nearby Fonteverde thermal swimming pools.
