Also known as Valle del Cismon, Primiero Valley is a Dolomitic valley in Trentino on the border with Veneto, consisting of three municipalities: Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, Imèr and Mezzano, which together with the adjacent municipalities of Canal San Bovo and Sagron Mis make up the Primiero valley community.
The Primiero and Vanoi Valleys, including Val Canali and Val Venegia, are part of the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Nature Park, established by the Autonomous Province of Trento in 1967.

The charm of the Dolomite group of Pale di San Martino, a Natural World Heritage Site, the long tradition of tourism and the warm welcome the area offers, make Primiero San Martino di Castrozza a destination of excellence in the Alps. Those who choose this wonderful corner of Trentino for a vacation have in their eyes indelible images of sceneries dominated by the imposing peaks of the Pale di San Martino, the largest group of the Dolomites (with over 200 km perimeter), and by a magical nature, safeguarded by the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Natural Park, where the rediscovery of the relationship with the environment, far from chaos, reserves unique emotions every day.

Precisely in order to fully respect the scenic beauty and natural resources that distinguish them, the Primiero and Vanoi Valleys have over the years become realities at the pinnacle of environmental excellence, with innovative projects in the energy field such as to merit recognition in 2016 from Legambiente as "100% renewable territories." Recently, moreover, Primiero San Martino di Castrozza was nominated to be part of the "Alpine Pearls" circuit, the European circuit that offers experiences related to a sustainable and more conscious vacation, in harmony with nature, thanks also to innovative proposals for soft mobility.

All this in full respect of an extraordinary heritage of landscapes: in San Martino di Castrozza, the most famous tourist resort, located at 1,450 m, it seems to be able to touch the mountains with a finger and nature integrates perfectly with the small alpine center, allowing a vacation at high altitude with all the comforts and opportunities of an alpine summer and winter capital. Distances that are always short, ski lifts that run on clean energy and all services that can be reached comfortably even on foot make this resort a true "Living Room of the Dolomites."

The town of Primiero, on the other hand, 12 km away and located 700 m lower down, at the foot of the Pale di San Martino, as of 2016 includes the villages of Fiera di Primiero, Transacqua, Tonadico and Siror, and represents the administrative and commercial center of the municipality and the entire valley. The presence of some buildings of great historical importance, such as the Palazzo del Dazio and the archpriest's church of Santa Maria Assunta, both from the Gothic period, testifies to the importance of this center for the entire area, which together with the neighboring municipalities of Imer, Mezzano, Canal San Bovo and Sagron Mis counts to a total of 10,000 inhabitants.

Primiero San Martino di Castrozza is surrounded by three mountain groups: to the north the Pale di San Martino, to the west the Lagorai and to the south the Vette Feltrine. This is precisely why it is the ideal destination for mountain and sports enthusiasts.

In the summer, outdoor activities range from the simplest walks to multi-day trekking routes, (also with ferrate) on the Altopiano delle Pale, to bike routes to discover forests, pastures and ancient villages, to the more adrenaline-pumping opportunities offered by the San Martino Bike Arena or the Primiero Pump Track. In particular, in recent years, the area has invested heavily in the strengthening of the bicycle and pedestrian routes connecting the various localities, which make it possible to leave comfortably from the villages on the valley floor to touch even the 2,000 meters of the marvelous Passo Rolle, through routes that can also be enjoyed by e-bike, also encouraging the discovery of suggestive hidden corners of the area with spectacular passages on rope bridges that make for adrenaline-filled experiences on fat wheels.

In winter, the San Martino di Castrozza Passo Rolle ski area with its 60 km of slopes offers all the possibilities related to snow adventures, in addition to classic alpine skiing there are snowboarding, freeriding, cross-country skiing, ski mountaineering and snowshoeing. The pleasures of on-piste or off-piste experiences are also combined with the joys of the palate within the Carousel of Alpine pastures, the famous circuit that winds along mountain huts and alpine pastures scattered in the most characteristic points of the ski area.

Here, in the heart of the Dolomites, nature unleashes wellness and beauty.
