A village in the province of Frosinone situated in the Ciociaria hills overlooking the valley where the Liri and Sacco rivers flow. The name of the town derives from the cult of the god Bove, symbol of fertility, worshipped by the Ernici, an ancient Latium population to which “Ernica” was added to remember the first inhabitants of the area. The village is rich in religious buildings that testify to the fact that it belonged to the Papal State for centuries and is surrounded by imposing walls that are an example of medieval fortification.
