Typical alpine village, Carano is located on a natural terrace overlooking the valley, with view on the chain of the Lagorai and the Pale di San Martino. The Rio Val Valley, also called Osta Valley, divides the village into two hamlets: Villa, which is the main agglomerate and higher (m.1120) and Radà²e, where stands the church (m.1086). Its territory also includes some small hamlets as Aguai, Cela, Veronza, Solaiolo, Calvello.
