Isola della Scala

Not far from Verona and south of Venice, the village is part of the Tartaro river basin. Its origins date back to the Bronze Age, whose settlements increased during the Roman domination and with the construction of the Via Claudia Augusta. In the medieval period the settlement of Benedictine monasteries was recorded, which worked on the reclamation of the agricultural territory. In the municipal era the territory belonged almost entirely to the Bonifacio counts of Verona and was called “Isola dei Conti”.
