Discovering Perinaldo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy

Alla scoperta di Perinaldo

Italy is full of places of extraordinary beauty. There are so many that sometimes we forget some of them, which nevertheless would make and still makes the whole world envious. One of these places, hidden near the magnificent landscape we can enjoy in Imperia, Liguria, is Perinaldo, a municipality also known for gastronomic delicacies of the highest quality. It hardly seems to come as a surprise, in fact most likely not to anyone or almost anyone, because in our country we eat well everywhere.

Among the delicacies of Perinaldo, however, we find especially the extra virgin olive oil PDO and the Perinaldo artichoke. These two products are so good and of such quality that in May each year the Perinaldo Artichoke and Taggiasca Extra Virgin Olive Oil Gastronomic Review is organized.

What are the main entertainment opportunities in Perinaldo?

A must during the stay is definitely a walk through the streets of the village where the beautiful corners and alleys hide points of interest especially for young people between discos, pubs and outdoor events know how to have fun during the summer period. Precisely because of this, in fact, the streets of Perinaldo are very lively and busy. Moreover, reaching the most scenic area of the ridge there is the possibility to enjoy a view that is nothing short of breathtaking, which overlooks the olive groves and vineyards that extend to the beautiful villages of Bajardo and Apricale.

A good opportunity is also to travel to the Sanremo Casino, which is only 20 km from the village. For gambling enthusiasts who have no intention of traveling to the casino, however, there are a myriad of digital casino platforms that can be accessed and played on. Indeed, a number of pages can be found on the web, including, for example imiglioricasinoonline.net, which enumerate a list of PayPal casinos, i.e., those online gambling portals that allow cash to be deposited through this form of payment.

However, for those who do not have PayPal, it is important to know that it does not turn out to be the only payment method in online gaming, but there are many others that are still just as safe and reliable.

Perinaldo’s historical points of interest

In the course of your walk through Perinaldo, we recommend that you pause to observe the historical plaques that you encounter along the streets of the village. These can be considered true historical archives, whose purpose is to narrate and make known the history of Perinaldo. Some of the most salient features of the life of this municipality undoubtedly include the inauguration of the local band in the 1930s and the dedication of the monument to all the fallen soldiers during World War I.

Perinaldo’s main tourist attractions

Among Perinaldo’s main tourist attractions is undoubtedly the Parish Church of St. Nicholas of Bari, patron saint of the wonderful Apulian town. The church inside holds a very valuable work: a wooden crucifix, made by an artist active in western Liguria, dated between the sixth and seventh decades of the 15th century. As for the decoration of the church, the intervention of the very famous astronomer Giovanni Domenico Cassini, who offered the canvas to the Suffrage altar in 1672, was important, probably decisive.

Other important attractions in the village of Perinaldo are the Church of the Visitation and Sundial and the Astronomical Observatory. The former, which dates back to the 17th century, holds a celestial secret inside, as well as the gnomonic forum, which of all is the most appreciated attraction of the entire structure. Through a game in which the starring roles belong to the architecture and the sun, in fact, the latter’s silhouette is projected on the floor of the church, which, depending on the season and time of day, traces lines, paths and tells different stories. The second, the G.D. Cassini Municipal Astronomical Observatory, still remains one of the most important centers of astronomical popularization in our country. The building houses two domes, a planetarium and solar instruments.

For enthusiasts, moreover, openings are regular throughout the year. Equipment is very powerful, while activities span both the interior and exterior of the building, such that observations take place in both the domes and courtyards.
