The Church of San Silvestro, located in Alatri, è one of the oldest in the area, dating back to the 10th century. Featuring a single nave, è it was enlarged in 1331 with the addition of a side aisle.
The facade, covered with squared stone and surmounted by wooden trusses, expresses the mystical essence of the place with simplicity.
The partially preserved frescoes, dating from different periods, embellish the structure, among which the fresco of St. Sylvester with the dragon, a valuable example of sacred painting from the 12th century, stands out.
