The archaeological area of Vetulonia is located in the homonymous hamlet of Castiglione della Pescaia.
The archaeological site shows the ancient settlements of the area, the first ones dating back to the 9th century BC, with its necropolis, some of which date back to the Etruscan period. Of particular interest are the Tomba della Pietrera and the Tomba del Diavolino, which are the oldest stone sculptures found in Etruria.
The Diaccia Botrona nature reserve, on the other hand, is a protected natural area, which covers about 1270 hectares. Many specimens of flora and fauna live here.
