Church of St. Anthony

The Church of St. Anthony of Corigliano is an important testimony to the historical and artistic heritage of the region. Founded in 1459 by the prince of Bisignano, Luca Sanseverino, together with the Franciscan convent, the church underwent a complete reconstruction between 1740 and 1741, resulting in a building of great charm. The facade features an elegant Baroque style, while the dome, covered with yellow and blue majolica tiles, immediately catches the attention of visitors, reflecting the local craftsmanship tradition.

Inside, the church is adorned with 18th-century decorations that are a remarkable example of Calabrian art of the period. The stucco and marble balustrades create an atmosphere of great suggestion and beauty, inviting contemplation. The works of art inside, including frescoes and finely crafted altars, tell stories of devotion and tradition, making the Church of St. Anthony a place of worship and cultural interest.

The church is not only a place of prayer, but also an important landmark for the local community, offering space for religious events and celebrations. Its location in the heart of Corigliano helps to enhance the urban landscape, attracting visitors and tourists who wish to discover Calabrian history and culture.
