The fresco is located in the parish church of San Saturnino in Mocchie. The protagonist of the painting is San Carlo Borromeo, shown here in the act to pray with hands joined. Before him a table with an open book, the background a drape green and one half of the shroud, which occupies the upper left corner of the painting. The Shroud is made truly singular, exits from the visual field of the painting and suggests a very poor knowledge of the sacred Shroud by the painter, probably a local that has dabbled in the decoration of the pylon.
