Alpine Fauna Regional Museum

The Beck-Peccoz Alpine Fauna Regional Museum (in French, Musée régional de la faune alpine Beck-Peccoz; in German, Alpenfaunamuseum Beck-Peccoz) includes the most ancient nucleus of the collection of hunting trophies – about two thousand pieces – the baronial family of origin walser of Beck-Peccoz. The collection includes horns and antlers mounted on the shields of chamois, ibexes, deer, roe deer and further alpine fauna and other continents whose first pieces dating back to the XVIII century.

A particular emphasis is to be attributed to some stuffed specimens of Siberian roe deer (Capreolus pygargus) and crossovers between goat and ibex. A further historical and scientific value is given by the examples of bone malformation that it was possible to study thanks also to other specimens collected. The Polo Museale is completed by paintings and portraits, heirlooms, books, publications related to the fauna and the flora of the Alps.
