A true corner of paradise with crystal-clear sea where you can relax and regenerate from the daily grind. In fact, since 2012, Torre Melissa has always received the Blue Flag award. Its beach is one of the most beautiful in Ionian Calabria: lapped by a clear, shallow sea and covered with fine white sand mixed with gravel.
In addition, with its child-friendly beach, Torre Melissa has been awarded Green Flag status since April 2016, making it in effect an ideal destination for all families.
The small town boasts the construction of the Aragonese Tower, from which it is possible to enjoy a marvellous view of the entire coast of the Marchesato, ranging from Punta Alice to Capo Colonna.
Also worth visiting in Torre Melissa is the Church of Maria SS. del Monte del Carmelo, built in the mid-19th century.
Torre Melissa is also a land of good wine. Here, excellent, full-bodied and fragrant wines are produced, such as the ‘Melissa’ wine, which can only be purchased locally. Precisely in connection with the festival of the patron saint SS. Maria del Carmelo, which takes place from 9 to 11 August, it is possible to participate in one of the most important summer events, ‘Calici di Stelle’.
