The Palazzo Nobili-Tarugi di Montepulciano is situated on the Grand Sqaure, in front of the cathedral of Montepulciano and was attributed to Antonio da Sangallo the Elder (even if someone in more recent times prefer to report it to Jacopo Barozzi from Vignola) that would have built in the early decades of the Sixteenth Century. Was the residence before the noble family and then of the family Tarugi. Completely covered in travertine, has on the ground floor an imposing portico, with round arches, a time is open to the public. In the noble floor, presenting windows from the eardrum curved, the coating is punctuated by semicolumns of ionic order resting on tall pedestals. These support the balustrade of the second floor also in travertine but where the score is obtained with semipilastrini of the Doric order. On the corner at the bottom loggia opened, also on the second floor, a loggia now buffered. The palace is not open to the public.
