It is the first sacred building in Rocca Imperiale. Built subsequent to the construction of the Swabian Castle at the time of Frederick II of Swabia, the church apparently dates from the 12th century. The structure is pure Romanesque in style, with a main entrance and a secondary entrance on the opposite side. The interior has a single nave with a bare presbytery and high altar.
