In Spigno di Monferrato is the “Plaque in memory of the passage of King Charles Albert”. March 25, 1849 Tombstone in memory of the passage of King Charles Albert after his defeat at Novara against the Austrians. He was on his way to Porto in Portugal in exile. Plaque dedicated by the town hall and Workers’ Society on September 8, 1882
