Castiglion Fiorentino Photo Fest 2025. A visual journey through art, history and creativity

Saturday 26 April at 18:00 is the opening of the festival at the Church of Sant’Agostino

Castiglion Fiorentino is preparing to host the 2025 edition of the Castiglion Fiorentino Photo Fest, an event that celebrates contemporary photography in a place of inestimable historical and cultural value.

The inauguration will take place on 26 April 2025, from 6 p.m., at the Church of Sant’Agostino, recently restored and ready to host the exhibition that will remain open to the public until 11 May 2025. A unique opportunity to immerse oneself in a visual journey that combines art, history and creativity. The Castiglion Fiorentino Photo Fest 2025 is an event promoted by the Municipality of Castiglion Fiorentino, Antonio Manta and Carlo Landucci.

The Castiglion Fiorentino Photo Fest fits into a context of great significance for the City of Castiglion Fiorentino, since the reopening ceremony of the Church of Sant’Agostino will precede the official opening of the exhibition. The reopening ceremony of this extraordinary building, recently restored, will be presided over by Mayor Mario Agnelli and Culture Councillor Massimiliano Lachi, symbolising a return to cultural life for one of Castiglion Fiorentino’s most emblematic places.

After the reopening ceremony, the Church of Sant’Agostino will become the beating heart of the festival, hosting a selection of photographic works by Italian and international authors. The group exhibition will be a visual journey exploring various photographic languages, from personal stories to universal reflections, inviting the public to engage with images that tell the world from new perspectives.

The opening of the exhibition will be conducted by Romina Gimondo, a member of the festival’s scientific committee. Guests will include Carlo Landucci, organiser of the CFPF and president of the association ‘Gli Occhi della Speranza’, and Ornella Scognamiglio, president of the social cooperative Litografi Vesuviani, as well as creator and coordinator of the ‘Marea’ group project. Also present will be Pasquale Saviano, Carla Boccia, Giovanna Cocchiarella, Marina Rivellini and Carla Tanzillo, all scientific managers of the ‘Marea’ project. Also taking part will be Maria La Notte, president of Fidia Factory, Romeo Di Loreto, professor at The University of Texas and member of the festival’s scientific committee, Maurizio Garofalo, photo editor and journalist, and Antonio Manta, artistic director of the festival.

From 26 April to 11 May 2025, the exhibition will be open daily, except Mondays, from 10:00 to 13:00 and 15:30 to 19:00, Wednesday mornings only. An opportunity not to be missed to explore the world of photography in a fascinating context.
